🦚 Your Nerves Aren’t Your Problem. They’re Your Power 🦚

May 2025

Hello Reader!

Let's talk about nerves.

If you're like me, they've been your constant companion.

As I mentioned in this month’s video, I get nervous! At times in my life, my nerves have made exciting experiences terrifying, and moments where I would wish to celebrate, painful.

But here’s the truth: I don’t believe in getting rid of nervous energy anymore. I believe in using it.

In this month’s episode of Presence with Peacock Voices, I’m sharing how to repurpose nervous energy to support your voice, not sabotage it.

Because nerves aren’t a weakness, they're proof that you care.

When you know how to work with that energy, it can become one of your greatest tools as a speaker and as a leader.

Inside the video, you’ll learn:

🦚 Why nervous energy is actually useful, and how to turn it into vocal energy

🦚 The exact process to identify what shifts in your body when you get nervous

🦚 How to train your voice under calm conditions so you can call on those skills in high-stakes moments

I even share my favorite low-tech grounding hack (spoiler: it involves your toes).

Whether you lead meetings, present regularly, or just want to feel more in control when you speak, this is a skill that can change the game.

Next month, we’re celebrating the beauty and power of accents and how to embrace yours while being clearly understood. I hope you’ll follow along!

October 2025 Hello Reader! Have you ever been in the middle of a presentation and noticed your audience’s eyes glaze over? It’s a deflating moment, especially when you know your content is solid. The problem often isn’t your material. It’s in your delivery. This month, we’re talking about inflection: the rises and falls in pitch that bring your voice to life. Without it, you risk slipping into monotone (think of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), but too much inflection can come across as...

Hello Reader! Have you ever been in a meeting thinking, “Why isn’t anyone taking me seriously?” Maybe people talk over you, second-guess your decisions, or certain team members just won’t get on board. It’s frustrating – especially when you know you’re capable. Here’s the thing: authority isn’t just about your title, your content, or how you look. A huge part of it comes from how people hear you. In my latest video, I share how to build an authoritative speaking style – one that’s authentic...

Word blocks spelling out "IMPOSTER" on a white background with a green succulent

August 2025 Hello Reader! If you’ve ever walked into a meeting thinking, “Any minute now, they’ll figure out I don’t belong here,” you’re in good company. About 80% of people have felt the same way. That feeling has a name: Imposter Syndrome. And while there’s a lot of advice out there (mindset shifts, affirmations, power poses, etc.), I want to offer something a little different: using your voice. Why? Because your voice is physical. It’s not just an idea in your head — it’s something your...
